One Entrepreneur On Money: Dave Phillipson

This is part of a series called "The Entrepreneurs On Money."  This interview is with Dave Phillipson.

Knowing what you know now, what do you think you might have done differently where money is concerned, if you were just starting your business?

I'd have become a member of CEO Space a lot sooner, had I known about it then.  They not only teach you "The Language of Capital - How to attract Money Like a Magnet," they have funding sources where deal-flow happens at the meetings.

What were your biggest mistakes when it came to managing your money as a business owner?

Trusting that my business partner was as honest as I am.

What were your smartest moves when it came to managing your money as a business owner?

Learning & Practicing the principles of "OPM"  (Other Peoples Money)

What are your best suggestions for new business owners when it comes to managing money?

Learn how to raise capital, and by that I don't mean borrow money from friends and family.

Any final thoughts on money and managing it as a business owner?

Money is a language, just as is French, Spanish, Cantonese, etc.  It ought to be taught in our school systems before graduating from high school, but it's not.  It's not even taught at the top MBA schools.

Dave Phillipson is a serial entrepreneur.  He operates a business blog, DauntlessDave.Blogspot.com which has a subtitle, "Fighting for Small Business".   He is also a business mentor and became a Regional Director for CEO Space, after discovering how much time, money the organization saved and how much headache & heartache was avoided for entrepreneurs.  You may learn more about CEO Space at GlobalCEOspace.com.
