What was your first business venture?
My very “first” business was selling cookies at school at the age of 12 (1965). I would purchase the large boxes of cookies at the local store and resell them for a profit.
What made you want to go into business for yourself?
I always had a desire to control my own destination.
Would you go into business, if you had it to do over again? Why or why not?
Yes. Because I am able to control my destination.
What were some of your biggest lessons learned about starting a business?
I learned that:
1) You should know and understand business systems.
2) You should know how and where to get “Proper” financing.
3) You should make “Good” credit one of your main assets.
What advice would you have for others considering going into business for themselves?
Never, never, let other people determined your destiny or faith.
Any final thoughts on starting a business?
Just do it, and take advantage of all the free and low-cost tools that available, i.e, websites, free business counseling, write articles.
