Submit a Guest Article

We're always on the lookout for great content! If you'd like to contribute a guest post, please send it to us.  Note: If you submit a few good articles, we might even ask you to become a regular contributor!

Here's what you need to do.  First, be sure to read this entire page before sending us your content.

Guidelines for Submission

  1. Your article must stay within the scope of the Upstart Smart website and should fit well within one of the categories of the Upstart Smart Magazine.
  2. You should be knowledgable of the topic of your post.
  3. Your article MUST NOT be posted anywhere else online, including your own blog or website.
  4. Your article should be approximately 400-800 words in length.
  5. Links should be included within the submitted entry. If you're unfamiliar with HTML, please use the following format when submitting links "[link anchor text](link URL)." For example, "Visit the [Brown Bug website](http://www.brownbugproject.com/) for more information."
  6. Your article MUST NOT include images.
  7. Your article CANNOT contain more than TWO (2) self-promotional links, including those within the resource box.
  8. A resource box will be included at the bottom of the full article (not within the excerpt or within the email version of the magazine).
  9. Your article should include information for your resource box as follows: (1) Your full name, (2) Your title, (3) Your company name, (4) Your website or blog URL, and (5) A brief (75 words max) byline or bio. If this information is not provided, the resource box will not be included within the full article.

Terms for Submission

If you submit content to this website or to one of our associates, you must agree to the following.

  1. You agree to review these guidelines prior to each submission for updates and changes to these terms.
  2. You warrant that all material posted or submitted to Upstart Smart is original content and nondefamatory.
  3. You grant Upstart Smart and our parent company, Brown Bug, LLC, transferable, non-exclusive, world-wide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, fully sub-licensable right and license to copy, distribute, transmit, publicly display, publicly perform, reproduce, edit, translate, and reformat the submitted content; to publish his or her name in connection with the submitted content; and the right to sub-license such rights at any time and without notice to the members.
  4. You agree to indemnify and hold Upstart Smart and our parent company, Brown Bug, LLC, and its owners and associates harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of any submitted content.
  5. You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell, or exploit for any commercial purposes any submitted content.
  6. Upstart Smart, Brown Bug, LLC, and its owners and associates assume no liability or responsibility for the accuracy of any information posted by members.
  7. You agree that articles may be edited for spelling, grammar, and length prior to posting.
  8. You agree that you will not be paid for content submissions.
  9. We reserve the right to reject any submissions and posts.

  1. Email your submission to mail [at] upstartsmart [dot] com (Subject Line: Upstart Smart Article Submission).  You may paste your article into the body of the email, attach it as a text file, or attach it as a Google document.
